VI Peel, Day 8

I went shopping today and wore makeup. Tonight after I washed my face, I noticed a very dry patch on my left cheek. I think it's going to peel a second time. Good, maybe I'll see an even better result! I have to go to work tomorrow though; hope I don't have loose skin hanging everywhere. These pictures were taken this morning:

VI Peel, Day 7

Today the peeling is concentrated mostly around the edges of my face -- jawline, hairline. It seems that the peel started toward the middle of my face and gradually moved outward. I've been cooped up in the house since Day 3, but I ventured out today, with makeup. My skin is improved, because I needed less concealer than usual. It's still far from perfect though, but I wasn't expecting perfection from just a single peel. I still won't go out in public without makeup, but at least I can wear less of it. Honestly, even if I had spotless skin, I'd probably wear some makeup most days because my skin color is so extremely pale that I look like a corpse without it. :-)

VI Peel, Day 6

So ... is my skin improving? Not a lot. I'm trying to be patient. Some of the discoloration you see in the pictures is peeled vs. unpeeled areas. The places that haven't peeled off yet are still a tan sort of color, and the peeled areas are light pink. I can't say I see a huge difference in the color of the acne scars. Definitely faded a bit in the most noticeable spots (the most recent acne), but I can't say I see much difference yet in the older spots. The peeling continues and is now getting closer to the outer sides of my face, while still finishing up around my nose and brows.

VI Peel, Day 5

The peeling has spread to my forehead and cheeks today, and continues on my chin and upper lip. Another stay-home day.

VI Peel, Day 4 - The peeling begins

My skin started to peel late last night around bedtime. It began on my chin and today has spread above my lip and around my nose. My forehead is very dry but isn't peeling yet. It's kind of cool to see it happening, but now I definitely have to stay home. Flakes are falling off everywhere and it looks gross. It's hard to see the flakes in the photos, but you can probably see it best under my nose.

VI Peel, Day 3

I used the second Retin A towelette today. The smell stings my nose and eyes, but it didn't hurt at all on my skin. I have patchy dry areas today, especially on my chin, forehead and cheek bones, but no peeling yet.

VI Peel, Day 2 - The Day After

Day 2. I woke up this morning and washed my face for the first time since the VI Peel solution was applied yesterday. My face wasn't as pink today, more of a tan color. My skin feels different. Not really dry, just a different texture ... my skin feels thicker, if that makes sense. I used the first of two VI Peel Retin A towelettes. It didn't sting at all, but the smell was pretty strong. I had to go to work today, so I wore full makeup. There wasn't anything obviously different about my face that anybody noticed. My face is definitely darker than normal, but I wore a turtleneck so it would be less obvious. I think it just looked like I was wearing the wrong shade of foundation. :-) I'm feeling a little bit of itchiness today, especially along the jaw line. No peeling yet, but that will likely start tomorrow according to the lady who applied the VI Peel solution to my face. Here are some pictures from today.

The pictures below were taken about 3 hours after the VI Peel solution was applied to my face. It stung a little bit as the technician applied it and the smell of the solution wasn't great, but I don't care as long as I see decent results. My face felt tingly for about 30 minutes after. No discomfort at all after that. My face is pink, like a mild sunburn, and feels slightly sticky to touch. I was told not to wash my face until tomorrow morning, and I plan to do exactly that. I want the best results possible.

VI Peel, Day 1 - Before the peel

Today's the day! I took some "before" pictures around 8:00 a.m., pre-peel.

My VI Peel appointment is scheduled

Hi everyone! I first heard about the VI Peel and decided to try it after researching it on the Web. I had acne as a teen and throughout my 20s and 30s. Now at the age of 41, the acne problems have diminished (though I still get some breakouts), and I'm left with a lot of faded but still obvious pink spots/scars all over my face. I don't leave the house without makeup, and I never allow anyone to see me with a bare face. I have very pale skin, so I doubt I'll ever be completely makeup-free, but I hope to at least throw away all the concealer!

My appointment is scheduled for December 10, and after that I will post pictures and explain my healing process each day until it's over. I look forward to hearing your experiences as well.
